Project 2: Program Study + Design Proposal

In response to the previous week feedback about more closely examining the program of the Gehry house as well as putting more thought into the inhabitants I made a program study utilising a similar style to my sculptor Charles Arnoldi (2nd resident). The idea to focus on as a result of the program study is the idea of a house within a house, creating a ambiguous space where it feels like outside and inside simultaneously.

In response to feedback a quick diagram and sketches are made to lay the foundation for the design.

Quick sketches are made in a similar style to the way Gehry likes to sketch out his ideas. The Gehry sketch "indicates an idea and its elaboration into buildable form; simply boxes that have tumbled from above". The principles of the program arrangement will also feel like this.

Diagrammatic map is made to analyse connection and hierarchy between the spaces that are required.

A proposal is sketched out this time in the feedback, the general mass is worked out to act as the foundation.

Project 2: Site Analysis + Concept Proposal

To start the design in Pott's Point the first thing I did is to closely analyze the site and general context of the area. This is to find any opportunities that the site may offer as well as finding what the restrictions of the site are.

Below are the sketches of draft concepts and ideas that have come as a result of the site analysis. Key points about the site are also made.

The feedback was oriented towards doing some research into the inhabitants of the double house and how the programs associated with the 2 inhabitants interact.
